Hello,

I don't know where else to turn, after 3 days of searching and googling I came across ur site. I am looking for anyone or any leads to find out about my uncle's death. Nothing is adding up, he is not listed with the unit they have him listed with on the wall. I can not find him listed with any unit. I came across a website myself nor my family knew existed 3 days ago, and found this post.

Robert Pearson

Friend and room mate 2252 Huckleberry Trail,Virginia Beach, VA 23456 ** SELF DISTRUCT MY ASS**

TOMAS LIED ABOUT HIS AGE AND ENTERED THE NATIONAL GUARD ATSIXTEEN. HE WAS MY ROOM MATE AT CHARLOTTE HALL MILITARY ACADEMY THROUGH HIGHSCHOOL AND WORKED IN THE ARMORY. HE COULD FIELD STRIP ANY WEAPON BLINDFOLDED INSECONDS AND KNEW HIS WAY AROUND EXPLOSIVES. I ATTENDED HIS FUNERAL, CLOSEDCASKET, AND TALKED TO THE HONOR GUARD AND FAMILY. YOU SEE TOMS PROBLEM WAS THEHE WAS GUNG HO AT A TIME WHEN TROOPS WERE TOO FOND OF BUGGING OUT AND GETTINGHIGH. *TOM WAS FRAGGED THAT IS KILLED BY HIS OWN MEN THE GOVERNMENT JUSTDOESNT HAVE THE BALLS TO TELL THE TRUTH. MY SERVICE TIME WAS WITH 51ST SPECIALOPERATIONS AND I DONT THINK EITHER ONE OF US WOULD DO IT AGAIN.

-If the province is unknown like listed on the site for the wall, and yet body was recovered why do they not know how or where he died? I contacted Mr Pearson who also put me into contact with another vet who knew my uncle and the both are adament along with evryone else, they say that he never would have blown himself up. He was Special Forces Green Beret and knew about demolitions. And that brings me to the other thing that makes no sense, why is he not listed SF? Here is a pic Mr. Pearson help me identify the insignia: SEE ATTACHMENT

This as far as we can determine by his rank was prior to Vietnam. Also what exactly is USARV? From my research there was alot of secretcy surrounding them.

My uncle who served his country for 8 yrs and gave the ultimate sacrifice was not given any of his medals. Not even a Purple Heart. My grandparents went to their graves never knowing how their only son died, or ever holding any of the medals he earned. My mother has been haunted by the stigma that was affliated, with her idolized older brothers death for over 40 yrs. But most importantly, Tommy Muir who dedicated his life and also gave it doing his duty, to his country died in dishonor. I feel his death should not be in vain. He died fighting for us, its only right I fight for him now. You were in country doing the same time period, and from what I saw on your page wore the same insignia. Even if you didn't know my uncle personally, if you could just lead me in the right direction. I understand it was a horrific time over there, and people did things they never could have fathomed doing prior. I just want to know the truth and let my uncle be bestowed the honor he deserves. And let my mother the only living immediate family hold her heros awards. Help me give them both peace. Please email me with anything: bethpittman1979@gmail.com
