That barrel must get awful hot!

...... and it is not out in the slipstream either.

US Ordnance has an updated M60-E4 that has a hardened barrel that is supposed to withstand 15000 rds before change out ....

I've seen a video of them running 850 rds through it with one trigger pull .... one minute & 45 seconds of rock & roll!
