Jay Morley volunteered to host the next 261 reunion in the Washington DC area.

Jay is soliciting suggestions for the reunion and has asked me to reach out to our A/C and extend an invite. Talked with most of you at the previous PopaSmokes but have lost touch. I'll be in Reno in July and I'm sure we'll touch base. Any input let me know.

Date uncertain except 2006 (Hotels etc.)

Porter's Bulls - our ride into combat

I was in Fox 2/1 (Valley Forge and Iwo Jima) from Sep - Dec 1965. One of key squadrons that took us into many combat ops was 261. The biggie was Operation Harvest Moon (10-22 Dec 65). I just had my book published about my first tour of duty in VN (Sep 65 - Sep 66) where I mention quite a few stories about our unit, my one-year tour and of course the "chopper" guys. The was officially published August 6, 2004. I wanted to provide my link to it for anyone who might be interested in buying it. If not, I grateful for the chance to have served with anyone left from those days. The book can be bought on-line via a link at my homepage or through several other on-line sources -- do a quick search for its title: "LAST RIDE HOME" and should pop up at Amazon or Barnes and Noble or a few others. I'm sure you'd enjoy the story. The book's homepage is http://www.danfrancis-book.com

Thanks, and Semper Fi. "Mustang0302" Dan Francis (Watertown, NY)
