I don't think I've ever posted here. I wasn't in the Wing, in fact I was an 0311 Ground Pounder and squad leader in Nam. But I do remember all the flights into hot LZ's and being pulled out from the field by 46's and 53's.

I spent most of my time in Ch-46's. I was always glad to see those birds bring in supplies and pull us out after a long operation or out of a bad day. I remember Purple Foxes the most.

My Brother was with Mag 16 and flew with HMM 364 I believe as a Crew Chief 1969-1970. He was a Sergeant and his name is Victor Sanchez Jr. He's still around and kicking and just retired from General Mills in Aurora IL.

I've just added a link for this site to my new site called "Vietnam I Corps Marine 1965-1975."

http://vietnamicorps.proboards.com/

I'll try to stop by more often and visit with you all! Great site and great history. I'm glad it's here on the net and will always be here as a reminder of the great things out Marine Corps Air Wing and Combat Air Crews have done for our Corps and the Nation.

Semper Fi!

morning Marines

Gunny, its been a nice cool day here in the South-east Ok., as well. Its 70 on my porch right now. i do believe since the coolness has come a good month maybe and a half early, its going to be a winter with many days of snow on the ground. It was 45 years ago, we had snow on Halloween. I believe its getting back into that cycle again. The Last week of Dec., especially the 30-31st, we had 10-12 degree weather. Thats why I believe we will have many days with 6-8 inches of snow all over the place. Most likely State wide. Have good ones. Semper Fi, and READY-APP.

Welcome Gunny

Hi JJ, just knew you were being kept busy doing something. Think I'd rather be moving GrandKids and all, than mowing yards. I haven't heard of an earth quake yet. I have a feeling they will increase in a year or so. Have good ones all. Semper Fi, and READY-APP.

welcome Gunny

JJ, seems like we did have the ground shake a bit the other day. I saw a video on tv, but it was off by the time I was close enough to hear it. It hasn't come on again, but looked like it was shaking up pretty good. I was in a bad one in Iwakuni in '68, and the telephone poles were bout to break off. I was thinking,' Oh my goodness'. Well it was a bit more precise than that, but I was concerned. I like those bout as much as I do the tornadoes. Have good ones all. Semper Fi, and READY-APP.
