Visited the museum today. I was amazed at what I saw. They did a outstanding job with this place. I highly recommend anyone who wants to know about Marine Corps history will enjoy what they see here. For starters, I didn't know the first Marine Corps amphious assault was in the Bahamas, 1776. Took a bunch of pics and bought some Marine Corps "stuff" at their store. A must see!!

For the younger set, the HRS in the lobby is quite accurate. Notice that the co-pilot is wearing a dungarees and a dungaree hat. No nomex and no football helmet. yes, back in those days the co-pilot sat in the right hand seat. Not until hoists were installed did the pilot move to the right seat so he could see the lift better.
