Re: looking for history on Cherry Point AES-46/SOES/VMR-1

Out in the land of shades and shower shoes (SOES El Toro 67-68) we had the following.

2 ea. C-117
2 ea. S-2 Tracker
2 ea. T-33
2 ea. UH-34D SAR
2 ea. UC-45J Tried to get one of the two flying but wing spar cracks sent them to crash crew.
1 ea. C-131 Convair 019 (General Thrash)
1 ea. Piper Aztec

Other SOES organizations had similar aircraft so I hope it jogs memories.

I flew the following SOES aircraft while assigned to VMA-332 at Cherry Point in 1965 and early 66.

C-117 50784
T-1A 144126 and 144133
U-11A 149058
UC-45J 29661 and 51308
T-33B 136822
C-54Q 56504

Also went on a flight in a C-119 but the number is not in my log book.
