Please respond to email address below.

To whom it may concern:

My name is Nicholas Calabria, resident and TV producer residing in San Diego, CA. I have recently presented a show to PBS and I was interested in receiving the participation of your organization. The show consists of seven episodes about the lives of war veterans, but it is unlike any show you've ever seen. We take pilots of military vehicles, helicopters, planes, tanks, etc...and reuinite them with their vehicles. They get a chance to show our host how to pilot and maneuver the vehicle that they commanded and fought with during that particular war. For example, for our first show I had initially planned it to be with a helicopter pilot of the Vietnam War. Our host would meet up with him, go over some safety rules, check the craft, and fly up with our host while teaching him how to actually fly it, and the skills invovled in accomplishing such a task. We'll go over the controls, tactics, among many other things. While we're up there, we'll touch on some backstory, mixing old stock footage and photos of the pilot to recreate a particular memory or story that the pilot woud like to share with us. It's a great opportunity for veterans to share memories with us, as well as take pride in showing the public what they actually did during those wars by teching us about their vehicles. Please tell me what you think, as I would like your assistance in this matter in finding and sending the message out to local and national veterans about this uniqie opportunity. I look forward to hearing your rsponse. Thanks for your attention.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Calabria

Where do I sign up for this mission? I'll even bring my own flight gear. With this organization I'm sure there will be a long line of us old timers ready, willing, and able.

Getting real

Hey J.D., tell this dude to get a 46 & put two gunners, crew chief, & a stinger on the ramp with a M- 60. Add a few K.I.A,s , some W.I.A.s & a Doc. Add a couple of gunships covering our six, now that's Hollywood. An emergeny Recon extract would also be nice. I'll do it for free if they will clear us to fire. L.OL. S/F ED

Sounds like a plan to me

I'd love to climb back into the cockpit of the 34 again.... but it has been a long time, way too long I am afraid. I would be a tad bit rusty, but would be up for the adventure.

😀 😀 😀 😉

Looking For People -

Tell this guy to come on down to the next Tomball Takeover. He'll get all the volunteers he can handle. There sure were a bunch at the last one. We even had to restrain Ed "Hotguns" when he spotted the Korean War era jet on the property. He kept asking around "...if someone's got a "motor" for that thing, we can have some fun. We'll jest clear out the parking lot and take her up". He's OK now though, his meds have kicked in.

The very large Miramar Airshow will be taking place here in San Diego next month. The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum will have an H-34 on static display for the three day event that is expected to draw well over a million visitors. That may be a good place to start. I would be happy to act as liaison, if the TV producer is interested.
