πŸ™‚
The Memorial Day weekend is almost upon us. Why not join the POPASMOKE crew at The Wall ? The "Hootch" will again be set up at 20th and Constitution. Set up will be at 1900 hrs. on Friday May 28, 2010. Any help you can give with the set up will be greatly appreciated.. Hootch hours of operation will be Saturday and Sunday 0800 to about 1500 hrs, and Monday 0800 to about 1400 hrs. Memorial Service and and Wreath Ceremony is 1015 hrs on Monday (Memorial Day). Come on down to join the POPASMOKE crew to meet and greet Veterans, their families, and so many others who come to pay tribute. Please contact "Crazy Joe" Scholle or Larry Zok if you can help with this important POPASMOKE event.

Many thanks and Semper Fi.

Thanks

to Joe Scholle, Jim Turner, Tom Cannon, Ed Desaussure and Cecil Newcomb III for their tireless work at the hootch.

We had between 75-100 Young Marines participate this time. We had 2 of them medvaced. One for a turned ankle and the other one for heat (he also had asthma and the air quality was at Code Orange). Ed and Tom supervisid cooling him down while Joe called 911. We also grabbed a Park Ranger who got the Park Police involved to take care of this young man.

A lot less traffic down at the Wall this year, but we did have a bunch of first timers stop by - and that was nice.

Thanks

Thanks for the note to fill us in about the Day at the Wall. Sounds like you all did a great job and still know how to Medivac. I had some thought about getting down to washington but the way it sounds it was just as well that I didn't. I too have trouble with that kind of weather. Infact today out to the parade I was feeling it getting worse by the minutes. πŸ™‚ Nice that Cecil was able to get down .
