Has anyone talked with the Hotel yet? Will I did and found there prices to be very high as well as a $2500 deposit to have our Squadron dinner. etc.
I decided to take a trip to Orlando to see what the local restaurants, transportation etc. have to offer us.

If you have any information on restaurants and transportation please let me know.

T.C.
Surprised at deposit cost.
Contact point at the hotel for catering is:
Yirel Morillo│Senior Event Manager
JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes
Yirel.Morillo@Marriott.com Direct Line: 407-393-4703

If this isn't the person you talked to suggest you make another call. Make sure you mention part of POPASMOKE. May get the same answer, but........

OK, now that we got our dinner locked in, I'll share our secret. We signed with a local American Legion Post and got $22 per plate set for our Ugly Supper including drinks.

There are several VFW and Amer. Legion posts around. Call them. Ours even has a van for a shuttle.

We nabbed the closest one. Good thing about AL and VFW is they are cheap and very veteran friendly. We just googled up the AL's and VFW's, no sweat.

Being a Friday, you might even sign with a nearby large Church that has a good sized dining hall/activity hall and get a caterer.

No way we were going to pay $50+ for a burger and a tube steak.
