You need the grid map of the area that is broken into different blocks.

I don't know much but I had figured out that he blocks May have been what the AT stood for. Thank you for conforming that. Now I need to understand what the numbers mean. I have found a source for digital maps that can be viewed in Google Earth. If I learn how to use the coordenince mean I may be able to translate them to what we called them (i.e. LZ Baldy). I got the "After Action Reports" and they helped me remember names for the faces I had remembered but had forgotten their names.

If I was on the ground something was very wrong. The Pilots filled out the After Action Reports. Matter of fact I did not know they did that, I was to busy and wore ouy humping the 50 to the Armory. The six numbers translate to a ten meter square patch on the AT map.We routinely used 6 digit coordinates for inserts and extracts.  It was still useful to get a mirror or smoke for the extracts.  I'm too lazy to look for my AT mapbut it always went with me unless I was b mound for Coordinates Denied.

OK, I got my map.  Your coordinates are just west of the Hai Van Pass, which crossed the mountain where route 1 ran from Danang to Phu Bai.
