We are seeing some real history being created among our Reserve Squadrons in Afghanistan and Iraq. Case in point, the Red Dogs of 773. I sure hope we have attendees in FW of these squadrons.

Our POC at Bell said he knows the CO of 773. Is anyone else out there in contact with these folks? So far, I see no Squadron Coordinators listed for those squadrons.

Hml-771

I was in HML-771 from 1971 to 1994. We had over 30,000 of accident free flight time. Somehow we got on the wrong side of someone at HQMC and Congressman Murtha ( you know---get the troops out of Iraq yesterday fame) and we were de commissioned and all of are assets were split between Campen and Johnstown, PA. The curtain came down in Spring 1994 and we were de-commissioned. What a big mistake that was. We had pilots and crew second to none.

I am going to HMLA-773 in Atlanta to weigh a Cobra this Wednesday. I will talk up the reunion and ensure them they are truly a combat squadron and most welcome.

You might even find a watering hole on Cobb Parkway or US 41,where you could get the Occifers to buy you a brew or two. Hope you're successful getting some of them to Fort Worth! This is truly an honorable mission, my friend!!
